NRG, a Fortune 500 company based out of Houston, TX, approached AKQA Portland to help them redesign their website to create a new and better online experience for their customers. What resulted was a complete redesign of their web experience, for both mobile and desktop views, and a customized Adobe AEM CMS system that was built within a modular framework.
As the UX Lead, I oversaw multiple features on the front-end of the website. These were, but not limited to: Search, Contact Us, Asset Map, Form Fields, Geolocation functionality, Video module and Filtering. I also oversaw the entire module ecosystem, as well as the site map.
On the backend, I worked closely with development to build out the authoring experience in the AEM system which including naming, authoring of CMS labels, and tagging system (for search functionality). In addition to overseeing the UX of the entire site, I also helped with UI by not only designing, but helping to clarify and solidify the UI design system across the website.
A large part of my role was to create prototypes using Flinto software to demonstrate intent with interactions on the website. Below are some examples from the mega navigation, search results and awards carousel.
